Raymond has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Auckland 1972, and has been painting since the age of twelve. He has exhibited extensively in Auckland, Christchurch, Nelson, USA and Singapore.
In 1994 Raymond designed and constructed the stage set for "The New Zealand Wearable Art Show" in Nelson. Raymond has had a number of exhibitions in public art galleries in New Zealand including the Suter Art Gallery and the Canterbury Art Gallery in Christchurch. He has also had successful shows at the Gallerie Adrienne in Santa fe, the London Fine Arts gallery in Singapore and in 2000 he designed and painted a 9m x 3m mural for the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel lobby in Singapore.
His works are held in private collections in New Zealand and overseas.

Raymond paints New Zealand urban and rural landscapes, interiors and trees that are distinctive in their compositions of colour and motions of positive energy.
